PERFECT 10s III

 if it isnt already apparent, i am a great fan of Dandee Warhol and the what they are doing at War'Hous visual studios, this past weekend was no exception. Role AFM presented their "Perfect 10s" art show and dance III. The walls were covered with dozens are 10in X 10in pieces of art from artist around Houston. It was kind of a "who's who" of art show with work from Julie Zarate, Lizbeth Ortiz, Dandee Warhol, and many more. and whoever did not have work up in the gallery, showed up to support. great stuff. Below are some of my personal favs.

BOUNDED OPERATOR

 

 Sorry...i know it has been a very long time. I got back into the swing of things by going to Patrick Renner and Marisa Miller show "Bounded Operator". I went to school with both of these artist and it is so good to see how much they have developed in the years since. This was my first time at El Rincon Social, an artist studio and gallery, and hopefully not my last. Patrick had two monstrous pieces in the show, unfortunately i did not have a chance to speck to Pat about he was trying to say with these works. Marisa on the other hand had a few photos and sculptures that, to me, looked like they dealt with the literal projection and interconnection of sight and speech. I really hope that these two continue to make more work together, there was a great complement of styles here.
