This past weekend i was so please to see so many local galleries representing. So many galleries that i had never heard of and places i had not yet had the opportunity to visit. thankfully, they all came to me...in a way. I am making it my personal mission to visit each of them soon. There were also i a lot of other Texan flavors in the house this week. Austin and San Antonio made a great impression too. Here is what i managed to catch and some links to each of their galleries.
I was offered a great opportunity earlier this year. A chance to cover an inaugural art event in Houston. I have to admit, i really didnt take full advantage of the opportunity (regrets)...but this past Thursday, i got my press pass and got a sneak peak. Here are a few picture from Thursday. dont worry, i have a lot more pics from my 3 days there. tomorrow i will show some local galleries.
This weekend the Texas Contemporary art fair is making its debut at the George R. Brown convention center. It is a 3 day event, and IAM will be there covering the event and taking to the artist involved. If you have not purchased your tickets, they are still available. The show runs through Sunday and open daily until 7ish. I got a chance to preview some of the work , and trust me, you WILL NOT be disappointed.
The Montrose art society introduced 5 new members this past Friday. The show is currently running at the Caroline Collective @ 4820 Caroline. The new artist bring some new flavor to the already well rounded group, including 3 new female artist.
